Your rights explained & Information covered by the Act
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, any individual (students, staff, members of the public, even companies) may request for information from the University and the University would usually have to respond within 20 working days.
Requests must be in writing, must state a name and address and must state what information is required from the University.
Information covered by the Act
The Freedom of Information Act's access rights cover all recorded information held by the University of Salford. Examples of recorded information include:
- information that is held electronically (such as documents on the personal networked disk space (the F:\ drive),
- information recorded on paper;
- information held in any other manner such as audio or video recordings (e.g. a Cd or video tape, photographs, x-rays etc);
